Meet Our Staff: Inez Lewis

It’s always good to put a face with a name, isn’t it? At BLOOM, our core values are built around customer experience. We want to build relationships with the people we come in contact with every day. As with any good relationship, introductions are always important. We’ll go first!

001PortraitInezLewisInez Lewis is our Lead Floral Designer and Sympathy Arrangement Specialist.  However, it would be very hard to limit her to just sympathy work.  Chances are if you have placed an order with BLOOM, Inez was the creativity behind it.  She has been a designer for almost 40 years and has been with Doyle’s since 1985.

Well known around the Lynchburg area for her talent with Sympathy design, she goes out of her way to give our customers the very best service.  With a vast skill set, Inez can help you with a vase arrangement, casket sprays, a silk creation, something for the cemetery or a perfectly formed bow.  In her free time Inez enjoys raising baby goats, traveling, fishing and loving on her grand babies!

Meet Our Staff: Leslie Rocco

It’s always good to put a face with a name, isn’t it?  At BLOOM, our core values are built around customer experience.  We want to build relationships with the people we come in contact with every day.  As with any good relationship, introductions are always important.  We’ll go first!

Staff-LeslieRocco

Meet Leslie, our fearless, administrative assistant and all-things-finance guru.  Leslie has been with BLOOM for four years and keeps us straight in every way. Always helpful, always wearing a smile, always reminding us to recycle and pick up wandering paperclips!  As an east coast native, Leslie graduated from Penn State with a degree in Finance – which makes her perfect for this job. Leslie manages customer accounts, maintains the finances, keeps the books, works on computer quirks and anything else that needs to be done. Just don’t ask her to design a floral arrangement, that’s where she draws the line!  In her spare time, you might find her watching football, in the bleachers, talking about football or running concessions at a football game.  Leslie enjoys traveling with her husband, Frank, spending time with her three kids and her three adorable grandchildren.

What’s In a Name?

Shakespeare made famous the quote, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.”  Indeed the rose is unique for its name, its appearance, its fragrance but also for its meaning.  It is universal knowledge that sending or receiving a bouquet of red roses is a gesture of romantic love.  However, most flowers have meanings associated with them that aren’t always widely known.

We believe that flowers bring beauty to the world and knowing the meaning behind a blossom can create an experience far beyond the visual when sending flowers or even in putting together your wedding bouquet.  What a sweet memory to look back at photos of your bouquet knowing the emotions implied by every single flower!

We even suggest displaying your bouquet at the reception with a description of its meaning and keeping it with your bouquet once it has been preserved.  Then, as each anniversary passes, you can reflect on your vows and the expression of that day through something as sentimentally significant as the very flowers you carried down the aisle.
